I am a fan of a website called kentuckysportsradio.com. They have been doing a lot of "Top Ten __________ of the Decade" as of late. I thought it would be fun to do my own top ten of the decade, considering in 2010 it will have been 10 years since I graduated from high school, and I think I've come a long way! Add that to the fact that I have a horrible memory and this will serve as my memory when I look back on it.
10.2008- Masters degree (this really isn't a huge deal, just a huge relief to be done with it)
9.Fall 2008- started to dabble in painting again and found my passion in the process
8.Summer 2008- Jimmy Buffett concert at Riverbend
7.February 2009- Polar Bear Plunge- jumped into the freezing O-H-I-O river
6.Summer 2005- Bought our first house- a sweet condo with a beautiful back yard
5.Spring 2006- Hired at my 2nd teaching job(way better than my first teaching job)
4.Spring-Fall 2007- Built our first home
3.Spring Break 2008- Jamaica vacay (love, love, love)
2.Spring 2005- found my sweet beagle-bee at the Humane Society
1.July 23, 2005- Married the love of my life <3
Honorable mentions: Naples honeymoon, family beach vacays, French Lick quick get-a-way, 2008 UK football season, 2009 GA trip, not sure when it was but making cram candy with my Grandma for the last time. I know there are more, but like I said I have an awful memory.

Christmas Reminiscing
As I begin to think about taking down my Christmas decorations I start to reminisce a bit. I love the spirit of the Christmas season. I always have, and what I remember about Christmas when I was younger was getting to pick out my own new Christmas ornament. When I was little it was always a new ballerina ornament. So, before I pack away all my Christmas decor I picked my top 5 ornaments. These are the ones that are extra special- and let me tell you it was really hard to pick. The house is one of a set of 12 I got as a gift from a parent at my mom's school. Each of the 12ornaments represent a special quality a home should have. The dove is very old, and either belongs to my mom or my dad's family. It was always a disagreement as we trimmed the tree. Nonetheless, I fixed it up a bit and reminds me of family. The next ornament is one of the ornaments from Anthony and my first Christmas together. Although now that I think about it, he gave me one that he had engraved with our wedding date that means a lot to me too. The next ornament is a pickle. I know some of you may be thinking that is completely strange, but it is a German tradition. The tradition is that someone hides the pickle on the tree and then whoever finds it wins something. We started this tradition at my house when I was in middle school. The last ornament is one I made for Anthony. It is made of tickets to games he played in, in college. Ok, so there it is. My top five. And I could make it a top 10 but I have to put a limit somewhere, plus I'm not sure how to add more than 5 pictures at a time on here.

New Favorite Commercial
I usually don't watch a lot of tv or get caught up in commercials, but this one is too cute. I think my fellow teachers will appreciate it, along with parents. It is a typical kid. they always want to do want they can't do- and never think about the fact that they can't do it.

My view for the past week
No need to go into a lot of detail. I had to have surgery a week ago and these have been my views for the past week. I have to admit I am going a bit stir crazy, but it could be worse. Note the pretty fire Anthony made me. The good news is not much more of this sitting. I am getting out a bit tomorrow with my parents and our Christmas party was moved to this Saturday, so I will have lots to prepare for (while taking it easy too).

Holiday decorating tip

My dad sent me this email today and I was thoroughly amused:)
Here is the text that goes with it:
"Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with my Christmas decorations. The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days. I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.Great stories. But two things made me take it down.
First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.
Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn't realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy).
By the way, she was one of many people who attempted to do that. My yard couldn't take it either. I have more than a few tire tracks where people literally drove up my yard."
Back where we should be
As a little girl I would yell and cheer for our UK Wildcat basketball team with a passion. I had a huge crush on Travis Ford and loved to sing along to "the Monster Mash". Over the years that faded a bit and the past couple of years it has been virtually non existent. It isn't that I jumped off the UK band wagon (I am not one of those people), it is just that it was so painfully boring to watch I didn't really care if i missed a game or not. That is until this year. It has taken me a while to come back around but I am now LOVING me some UK basketball. It is exciting and fast tempo- the way UK basketball should be. I even am amused by the John Wall craze. Here are some of my favorite moments from the season so far this year.

Black Friday

I broke down and headed out Friday morning. Mainly because we thought our tv broke the night before and we wanted to get another one at a good price. Side note: really it just needs an easy repair. I have never done this before and I had prepared myself mentally before hand, as well as made sure my IPhone was charged. It really wasn't that bad. I found good parking spots, people were friendly, I found great deals, and despite the long lines they went quickly. I ventured out at 6:00 and by 10:00 my Christmas shopping was complete. Not too shabby!
