I know I've been in a blogging slump. Let me try to explain. First, as many of you moms out there know there is not a lot of time left in a day. I can't seem to fit blogging in. I dedicated my morning routine to my devotional, getting ready, and catching up on current events. In the afternoon it's time to play with Little Man and make dinner. By the time he's in bed we are really trying to stay devoted to working out and spending some time together a few nights a week at least. I have a list a mile long of craft project I would love to create. My Pintrest DIY folder is bursting at the seams. I also feel like my days are pretty much the same and not much has happened. I could talk to you about my school days. I could tell you how it is important it is to raise a child who is not enabled. I could share with you my recipes. They're mostly all for chicken. Because that's all Anthony and I will agree on to eat. All the recipes are healthy and tasty. But I feel like even I am getting a bit sick of chicken. Don't get me wrong, I love my days... just think it may not be the most exciting thing for me to write about... We have a few really exciting things that are in the works right now, but I just can't share them with you quite yet until things are finalized. I'm really excited about the next few months so hopefully there will be more blog posts to follow.

A lack of stuff

Healthy eating
I've always a pretty healthy person. I love farmers market, fresh fruit, and fresh veggies. I'm not big on boxed processed food (I don't ever say never but typically I stay away from it). Lately, because of Little Man I've really been thinking hard about what we put in our bodies, and his. I go to the farmers market during the summer on a regular basis, and try my hand at my own back yard garden, but in the winter it gets a little more challenging. I'm so excited to say that I met a wonderful lady through Anthony's work. Anthony works for Kentucky Farm Bureau. It is a local insurance company and they have ties with local farmers. This particular farm is called Deutsch Farms. The lady I spoke to is Sandy. They offer a great farm share deal. I'm sure you may have heard of something like this before. You buy ahead of time a part of the farm, and then each week on let's say Tuesday you go and pick up your basket of fresh produce. It makes sense in theory, but the problem is you may not need the produce at that time, or may not like the produce offered. This share is different. You can get what you want, when you want and it is just deducted from your prepaid amount. You also get a discount in buying a share. I recommend you check them out on Facebook!
On a side healthy note, here are some other goals for the New Year...- no more lunch meat- bake a turkey, and use as lunch meat, freeze what we need to.
- no margarine- butter only
- season with herbs- not sauces
- make my own bread more often
- find a local farmer and inquire about the price for fresh chicken (pricey but is it worth it this year)
- continue to stay away from the "dirty dozen"
- fresh eggs- it is crazy how much brighter they are and how much harder the shell is. I have no clue why this is, but I'm assuming it is a good thing
- continue to avoid processed, boxed foods
- a big if- but I'd love to learn how to make things like homemade pasta, and wheat thins (I know that's weird, but I found an easy recipe).
- continue to make Little Man's food and Gracie's treats
I've been trying to eat much more natural lately- no quick crappy snacks when I get home (this is my downfall) etc. I did treat myself to a small bowl of ice cream tonight, but I've done really well and felt a lot better.

Back to School
Today I am headed back to work after a wonderful two week break. To say I'm bummed is an understatement. Anthony and Little Man even have the day off today, which makes it extra hard for me. I did absolutely nothing yesterday except for hang out with my little family. My hair didn't get straightened, makeup didn't get put on, I didn't even straighten up the house. Christmas was extra special this year having Little Man. It also flew by extra fast. I've already tried to brainstorm some ways for next year to enjoy the season more. I've also been brainstorming ways for me to be able to spend more time with little man. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I'd be over the moon to spend more time with him at this age. It's such a fun age. Over the break we did nothing but a bunch of relaxing and enjoying each other. It was nice to have a couple of PJ days fun projects, and visit with a couple of friends.
