This is the weather forecast for this week. I LOVE summer. It is so stinkin relaxing. Today I lounged by the pool, and ordered a pina coloda. Yesterday I grilled out with my parents. This is my kickoff. One more week of work and this will be a constant. It just makes my heart flutter and my toes wiggle in excitement. By the way 19 more days till vacation!

My new game
I decided to start a new game. I am trying my hand at coupon clipping. I love to see how much $ I can save. So, I am starting small and working my way up. I went to http://www.kroger.com and registered my Kroger Plus Card. Then I was able to download coupons to my Kroger card (very easy). After that I had the weekly ad sent to my email. Finally, I clipped a few coupons the old fashioned way. I stuck to my coupons and ad pre-made list. All of this brought my savings to a grand total of $36. Not too shabby if I do say so myself. I plan to broaden my horizons and continue to improve in the Coupon Savings Game. Let me know if you have any great bargaining tips!

Self Talk
I just started a Bible study last night and it really focuses on your inner thoughts. Did you know people have inner dialogue on average of 150-300 words per minute. That is insane to me. So, today I thought I would share a list of just a few of my inner dialogue thoughts that I had today.
- I didn't go into teaching for the parents, I went into teaching for the kids.
- I could listen to a British accent all day long.
- Yes! 60% chance of rain and it rained- I love when percents work out.
- There is no need for a double prick to take a little blood.
- Yum! I have Dad's spaghetti sauce in the fridge= dinner
- Dumb yappy dogs, please stop barking so I can enjoy my walk.
- I feel bad for the kids of Jon and Kate +8
- I want recess!
- Why are my kids still being so good?
- I don't know how to fax something... I'm 28 and don't know how to fax something. Who is going to show me...
Ok I am going to stop at 10 random thoughts. Thank goodness not everything I think in all this randomness comes out. Surely you all have this odd train of thought too.

Jammin...
Last night Anthony took me to the Reggae Fest down at the Water Tower. He figured since were didn't make it back to Jamaica this year that this would be the next best thing. It was such a fun night. There was awesome music, authentic Jamaican food- jerk chicken (I finished mine like a champ.. and 2 bottles of water), Land Shark Lager, knock off Coach purses, dancing, a man on stilts and a man who breathed/played with fire. What could be better? If you closed your eyes and replaced the grass with sand you could have been in Jamaica. It was definitely hot enough (notice the frizzing/curling hair above) I have my fix for now but now I am on a mission to find good Reggae music and some more jerk chicken! Any suggestions where I can find these things would be greatly appreciated.

Firing Brigade
Today was a fun day with my kiddos. This is a great time of year to relax and enjoy the rest of the school year. Two weeks ago my kids worked diligently to raise almost $850 for Relay for Life. This was the most raised by any class and I was pretty proud (not to brag). So, today as a reward for all their hard work collecting money they were able to throw water balloons at me. 21 excited 3rd and 4th graders all lined up and on the count of five aimed their water balloons. It was very much like a firing brigade. They had tons of fun and actually I did too.
Book Free Time

I now have the free time to read. Well, at least some free time. I just finished this quick read that my mom recommended. It takes place in Ithaca, Georgia. Three very different woman (Nita Broadwell, Eadie Boone and Lavonne Zibolsky) who are united only because their husbands own the same law firm band together to show the town and their husbands that they will not sit back and idly watch the world pass them by. This witty and amusing story will keep you smiling all the way through. The best part is this is a part of a series- which I plan on reading as soon as I get more of that free time I am dreaming about.

A Rose by Any Other Name...
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." This is a picture of my first rose of the year. My parents bought me this beautiful yellow rose bush last year and I love to watch them bloom- not to mention the amazing smell. Most importantly the rose bush reminds me of my Grandma. This brings me to the second part of my post. My Grad ma had the most AMAZING rose bushes at her house (hot pink and light pink) and she would always let me take a couple home. I adored them. On Monday my Grandma will be celebrating her 92nd birthday! Sadly, because she has Alzheimer's she really doesn't know it is her birthday but I will be cutting a couple of roses tomorrow and thinking of her as I send love her way.

Organization is my Middle Name
This week we had a full week of testing and because of that I was able to get some organizing done in my classroom. For those of you who are teachers- yes I was still walking around the room- I was just multi-tasking in the process. Can anyone really walk around the room that much without doing anything... Anyway back to my point. I really got to get in, roll up my sleeves and got to the things I normally don't have time for. Here are the results. A newly themed sink room, remodeled and reorganized reading corner, perfectly organized science tubs and art cabinet. You are jealous aren't you:). They make me SO feel so happy and productive- Aww.. the smell of organization.

My Heaven on Earth
Guess what.... the beach is in my near future. Yes my Heaven on Earth is the beach- if you know me, you know this. Well, the trip is scheduled for the last week in June and I am over the moon! We (me, Anthony (for a bit) and my parents) will be going to Harbor Island, South Carolina. We went there last near and it is super quiet and peaceful as well as being close to Savannah, Georgia. These are pics from the beach there last year. Close your eyes and enjoy. 40 days and counting!

3 Couples
I am getting ready to go on my Saturday cleaning spree but first I had to post this pic. This is a pic from last night and in it are 3 couples (myself and my husband, the McWhorters and the Zubers). The guys (and Alisha) all went to high school together. When I first moved to Louisville Alisha and Monique were the only girls I knew. We have watched each other get married, and now the Zubers have Will and the McWhorters have a little one on the way too. I have been so blessed to have these people in my life. Now, to the reason this pic is so important- the Zubers are leaving today for Paducah (insert sad face here). Last night we all went over to hang out and help with a few finishing odds and ends. Of course they will be back to visit but they will be missed!

Just for fun
I'm a Lobster
This is my back on some serious sun. A couple of weeks ago I went to the Lake with my dear friend Jenny and her husband (Blake) and little boy (Corbin). They were so nice to take me out, I had such an enjoyable day and I neglected to focus on how red my shoulders were getting. Then the next day I helped my parents in their gardening endeavors- of course I became more red. As a result this pic was taken a few days after. Keep in mind I don't burn easily and used sun screen. Yikes! The good news is it is now peeling and if you would refer to a previous post I am a picker of peeling skin- totally worth the several days of sleeping on my stomach. See, every cloud had its silver lining.

New Quilt
Yesterday at the family Derby party we received an unexpected surprise. Anthony's Aunt Judy has an amazing talent for making quilts and she made a beautiful one for us. It matches the colors in our house perfectly. I have it on my reading chair for now until I decide where I want to put it for sure. Regardless it was such a generous and thoughtful gesture!
Why didn't this ever happen
when I was at UK. I found/snatched this video on one of my favorite blog sites. I hated the library on campus- it was too quiet and too hard to stay focused. Check this out. It was dead week on campus and I guess everyone was tired of studying. Oh how boring it is to be a grown up. It's not like someone is going to start a rave at my elementary school. Sigh!
